A Busy District, is a Fun District
The Hermitage District hosted a “Jungle of Fun” Cub and Family. The boys participated in many activities including bb shooting, archery, and an orienteering treasure hunt, while learning facts about the jungle. Troops 700 and 342 helped as service troops. Two weeks later, we had our district Pinewood Derby Races with 18 packs participating. Pack 43 participated in the NCAA Community Outreach 101 program. The pack was recognized and given an award during the NCAA 2014 Women’s Final Four for their extraordinary service and dedication in the Nashville community.

Hermitage Scout Honored for Quick Action
Nicholas Emmanuel Wells, out of Troop 342, was awarded the Medal of Merit for saving the life of another Scout at a Boxwell shower house during the 2013 summer camp. A Scout had an epileptic seizure and fell face first down into a big area of pooled water. Nicholas helped get the Scout’s face out of the water and secured medical care. The Scout was transported to the hospital and was released after 24 hours. Nicholas was given the award for performance of service well above that which is expected of all Scouts and Scouters in their daily lives, and which impacts others to a high degree.
