Boy Scout Troop 416 Makes Headlines
Many watched the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, as Troop 416 watched the thermometer mercury drop while traveling to Ely, Minnesota for BSA’s Northern Tier Winter Program. With two dozen troops joining the excursion, Troop 416 was one of two groups that endured the four-night campout in weather that reached -30 degrees. News Channel 5 interviewed Eagle Scouts from 416; they credited their endurance to rigorous Scout training.

Adult Leadership Yields Youth Leadership
CFO asks CEO, “What happens if we invest in developing our people and then they leave us?” CEO responds, “What happens if we don't, and they stay?” BSA is committed to developing volunteers. Debra Johnson, Troop 448, the Training Chair for Trail of Tears, is teaching trainers to enhance volunteer leadership and conversely develop youth leadership.
