District News
Welcome The Trail of Tears District welcomes Steve Dix as our new District Chairman. Steve is an Eagle Scout who grew up in Manchester, TN and started his scouting life in Pack 214 where he earned his Arrow of Light before crossing over into Troop 314. He has served as a WEBELOS leader in Pack 452 and has since worked with his son Jared in Troop 398. Both grandfathers were Scouts, one being President of the Northwest Georgia Council. Steve's father, Richard is an Eagle Scout as well. The District is very fortunate to have a leader like Steve to continue the great tradition of Scouting.
District Committee The district committee is a vital part of our success. Our volunteers that serve on this committee are responsible for numerous tasks that make our district functional. We are in need of folks that are willing to serve in a leadership role to continue to make our district the best it can be. Please contact Steve Dix or Mike Cowles if you are willing to serve in this capacity.
Quality Units This past year the Trail of Tears District achieved the honor of being a Centennial Quality District. This is not an easy task to achieve and many tasks have to occur to receive this distinction. Our district is full of quality units that are willing to do whatever it takes to help our kids succeed. A quality district occurs because of quality units and I urge you to strive to do so. Please contact John High to learn more about what the requirements are to be recognized as a quality unit.
Thanks Wow what a start, I want to THANK YOU for making my move to this district as smooth as possible. We have such a great opportunity to change a young person's life and it is our responsibility to insure a future for them and you make that happen on a daily basis. Whether you are a Scout leader, commissioner, committee member or parent you make the difference and we salute you for your effort.
